Once again everyone was surprised at the light weight. The recoil was noticeably less than other 7.62 semi auto rifles. One of my friends had an Armalite AR10 Carbine and one had a Springfield Armory Scout which we loaded up and had each shooter fire consecutively.

Everyone was in agreement that the Scar 17s had noticeably less recoil as well as muzzle climb. People watching the shooter transition through the three weapons could notice the reduced recoil and muzzle climb of the Scar 17s. I read somewhere that someone shot the 5.56 Scar and the 7.62 Scar and barely noticed a difference. Although the recoil was noticeably less than the other 7.62 rifles, anyone who has shot a lot of both caliber rifles will know you are shooting a 7.62. There's no mistaking it for a 5.56.
