It is standard for the caly pigeon shooters (Trap, skeet) to rest the muzzle of the BROKEN shotgun on the toecap of their shoes. while waiting for the next command.

its pretty common here to put the muzzle of the open shotgun on your toes to let your arm rest. if you shoot long series it makes perfect sense, as your arms are not getting tired that quickly! nevertheless I never ever saw somebody with such a device on his shoes :-D

and putting the weight of the gun on your shoulder is also considered counterproductive by some clay pigeon gurus - on the better stands they put special rubber covering on the floor, so you can put the muzzle on the floor without damaging it :o
